Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship.

Our Ministries

Bible Study Ministries

First Baptist Church offers Bible study for all ages in a variety of formats.

Every Sunday morning at 9:15 AM, the church offers Bible Study relevant to all age groups. The “Puddle” is a Wednesday night Bible Study group for kindergarten to sixth grade. The “Pond” is a Wednesday night Bible study group for students from 7th to 12th grade. Small group adult studies are offered periodically at the church site and in homes touching a wide range of topics such as “Financial Freedom” to “Healthy Relationships.” Bible book studies are also offered throughout the year.

Children's Ministry

Children are a priority at First Baptist Church.

When children come to First Baptist, they have a place to receive Biblical teachings as well as develop relationships with other children. We are dedicated to creating a fun and safe environment where children can learn practical lessons on how to become fully committed followers of Jesus. We currently offer Children's Sunday School classes of all ages from 9:15 - 10:15 AM as well as a full service Children's Church for 4-12 year olds from 10:30 AM until the end of service.

Youth Ministry

The Youth Ministry of First Baptist Church is committed to teaching youth, from ages 13-18, how to Biblically handle the issues they face on a daily basis. Youth will experience a time of worship, Bible study, fellowship, and small group discipleship.

The goal of the Youth Ministry is to equip students to make disciples of all nations, and to glorify God in all that they do.

Media Ministry

The media ministry exists to support the worship services each week along with producing the audio broadcast of the Sunday morning service.

This team of volunteers work on a rotating schedule and serve in the following areas: Sound Ministry, Media Presentation, Audio Recording, and the Lighting System.

Kingdom Threads Ministry

Kingdom Threads is a ministry that provides good used clothing for free to people in our community. Not limited to clothing but we share used household items, books, linens, shoes along with hugs and prayers. We receive used items from the community and make them available at no cost to people who come. There are neither income requirements nor a limit on the amount you can receive.

We are open Wednesdays 9 am to 12 am.

Kingdom SERVE

SERVE is the sister ministry that provides used furniture and household items as we have them available. It is primarily the resource for people who need a helping hand to starting again. There are limits to the amount people may have and we serve people by referral.

Funeral Meal Ministry

Our funeral meal ministry is designed to minister to grieving families. Our church building is located a half a block north of Harrell Funeral Home. We offer space for the family to gather, have a cup of coffee or tea and not have to think about how to feed all the family from out of town. We provide a meal for any family that needs it.

Hospitality House

Senior Adult Women’s Sunday School class has adopted Hospitality House at the State Women’s Prison in Gatesville. Hospitality House serves the families of people who are incarcerated there by providing them a clean, free, safe to stay during visits. It is open weekends. Our class sends supplies monthly such as paper towels, toilet paper, dishwashing soap, laundry soap, etc.

Kingdom Seams

Kingdom Seams is a ministry, for all ages, that offers education and instruction using sewing machines, patterns, crochet, knit, embroidery, and trashion. (Trashion is a term for art, jewelry, fashion and objects for the home created from used, thrown-out, found and repurposed elements.) Kingdom Seams works closely with several other FBC ministries.
